PARENT OF A HEICHAL ALUMNUS

Our son actually does love being in school! He comes home from school very happy and frequently has a story about some surprise student life activity that was offered that day. His Rebbeim, and older students, are warm and inspiring role models for him. The Heichal administration and Rav Stechler make the parents and students feel like they’re part of one big family.

PARENT OF A HEICHAL ALUMNUS

Welcome to Heichal!

The atmosphere here is electric! It’s hard to articulate, but the difference from middle school is palpable. Every single one of my talmidim is genuinely eager to be here. Our goal is for you to wake up thrilled about coming to yeshiva every day. We have several strategies to achieve this, starting with a genuine care for your individual interests. Whether you love sports or have other hobbies, you can excel at your thing at Heichal. With over 30 clubs offered each semester, everyone can get involved!

Every September, we kick off the yeshiva year with an incredible opening day trip. In the past, we’ve gone rafting, kayaking, and had a blast at thrilling aqua parks. This year, we ventured to an amazing lake that featured tubing, an aqua park, and even a fun ship! While these trips are a lot of fun, the primary purpose is for you to connect with your new classmates and rebbeim.

To reward your hard work, we organize two recreational trips each year. After midterms in January, we rent out a massive water park—trust me, it’s a blast! Another exciting outing is our ski and snow tubing trip around Rosh Chodesh Adar. You’re going to love it!

“AT HEICHAL, WE BELIEVE THAT LEARNING IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOUR WALLS OF A CLASSROOM.”

“Every one of my guys loves coming to Yeshiva every day!”

At Heichal, we firmly believe that learning extends beyond classroom walls. Throughout their high school journey, our students have the opportunity to embark on educational trips related to their General Studies subjects, visiting historical sites in D.C., Philly, and museums in NYC.

Special events are another highlight of the Heichal experience. Our students enjoy inspiring talks from world-renowned gedolim and evenings with globally famous musicians. But that’s not all—we love to surprise you with special treats like breakfasts, ice cream days, and iced coffee to kickstart your mornings. We’ve hosted exciting events like go-karts that came right to us, rock climbing walls, laser tag, ice skating, and even axe throwing. We once closed down the block around Yeshiva for a thrilling 300-foot zip line! Rest assured, we have plenty more exciting programs planned for the upcoming year.

Another fantastic aspect of student life at Heichal is our Shabbatons, which include yeshiva-wide in the mountains twice a year, grade-specific Shabbatons in different neighborhoods. There’s truly nothing quite like a Heichal Shabbaton!

The boys in this yeshiva are outstanding. Their character, concern for others, and overall stellar midos are exceptional. Our goal is to shape these young men into well-rounded individuals committed to Torah values. My foremost priority is to ensure that my students are happy every single day.

Heichal is nothing short of incredible. We have dedicated rebbeim who genuinely care about each student, a world-class faculty, and an administration fully invested in every student’s success. Heichal is genuinely remarkable.

I’m eagerly looking forward to meeting you,

Student Life

At Heichal, every day is packed with excitement, and our talmidim can’t wait to see what’s next!

From the moment they step into school, there’s always something thrilling on the agenda. We pride ourselves on offering an incredible range of activities, with numerous daily clubs and experiences that keep things fresh and engaging.

To launch and wrap up the year in style, we host meaningful Shabbos retreats at Camp Bnei Aliyah in in the mountains, creating memories that last a lifetime. Every few weeks, the excitement peaks with super-fun, on-campus adventures—think ziplining, axe throwing, and exhilarating trips to destinations like Top Golf or scenic hiking trails!

But the fun doesn’t stop there—our students eagerly look forward to the annual visits from some of the biggest Jewish music stars, who fill our halls with soul-stirring kumzitz sessions and electrifying dancing that light up the Heichal ruach.

Throughout the year, we joyfully celebrate hallmark events like the Selichos Kumzitz, Tehillim-a-thon, Simchas Bais HaShoeva, and epic Purim and Chanukah Chagigos that keep the energy high.

And of course, one of the most cherished aspects of Heichal is the constant inspiration we receive from leading local rabbanim, including Rav Neuburger, Rav Roberts, Rav Schreier, Rav Sobolofsky, and other gedolim from Yeshiva University, BMG Lakewood, and every yeshiva in between. These spiritual giants visit regularly to share divrei chizuk, give personal berachos, and uplift our talmidim.

At Heichal, there’s always something amazing just around the corner, with the best of Jewish music, meaningful events, and unforgettable experiences to inspire and energize you all year long!

Shabbatonim

Shabbatonim provide exceptional opportunities for talmidim to bond with friends and rebbeim, forming an essential part of the Heichal experience. Multiple times a year, we gather in Monsey, Passaic, or Bergenfield for an “In Shabbos.” These weekends are filled with meaningful davening, communal meals, stimulating discussions, and spirited sedarim, fostering an atmosphere of simcha and spiritual aliyah that extends beyond the yeshiva walls.

Additionally, twice annually, the entire yeshiva embarks on a journey to a special destination for a Shabbos of fun and inspiration. Whether it’s a serene mountain camp or a resort, the change of scenery and fresh mountain air inspire our talmidim to forge a deeper connection with Hashem.

Our Shabbatonim are marked by spirited singing and dancing, a Leil Shabbos Tisch, delectable seudos, and Torah insights from the Rosh Yeshiva, rebbeim, and select talmidim. We also enjoy a festive Motzei Shabbos program, scenic hikes, and a wide array of sports and tournaments. Many of our rebbeim live nearby and extend warm invitations for Shabbos and Yom Tov meals, further nurturing the invaluable rebbe-talmid bond.

Last season, our JV team achieved a thrilling league championship victory. These talented athletes are guided by our exceptional professional coaches, who bring a wealth of experience to our programs.

In addition to basketball, the Heichal Hornets softball teams actively compete in the Yeshiva Spring League. For those who prefer intramural sports, we host basketball and hockey intramurals for all grades throughout the year. Moreover, we’ve partnered with Zion Sports Academy, enabling our talmidim to join a professional AAU travel basketball team without conflicting with their yeshiva schedule.

At Heichal, we approach our tefilos with deep seriousness. Each boy receives his own Tehillim along with a pre-assigned perek. One of the highlights of our year is the annual Tehillim-a-thon, where we unite as a yeshiva to recite and sing all of Tehillim within minutes. This remarkable event culminates during the Aseres Yemei Teshuva, serving as a powerful expression of our commitment to prayer and community. Eitan Katz leads the event, inspiring us with beautiful niggunim based on Tehillim.

Educational Trips

At Heichal, we firmly believe that learning should extend beyond the classroom. Last year, each grade embarked on its own educational journey, tailored to the material they were studying in their General Studies curriculum.

Our freshmen were captivated by their visit to the USS New Jersey battleship. Sophomores explored history during a full-day trip to Philadelphia, touring Liberty Hall and other historical landmarks. The juniors experienced an action-packed overnight adventure in the Washington, D.C. area, where they immersed themselves in the Spy Museum, Holocaust Museum, Ford’s Theater, and the Air and Space Museum. They also enjoyed a thrilling Segway tour of the monuments, adding an exciting dimension to their educational experience.

Recreational trips

As part of our goal to develop well-rounded students, we organize a variety of outings throughout the year, both for the entire yeshiva and for individual grades. These trips provide students and their rebbeim with the opportunity to relax outside the four walls of the yeshiva and foster camaraderie among old and new friends.

Last year, our annual “opening-of-the-year” trip took place at Greenwood Lake Marina, where the boys enjoyed the aqua park, fun ship, tubing, and a massive BBQ, followed by a game of baseball at a local park. During the winter months, Heichal adds excitement to the season with thrilling ski trips and a rented indoor water park. Last year, we also visited the American Dream water park for an unforgettable experience.

Special Days

Every six weeks, Heichal holds a special programming day to energize the student body. These exciting events have included building a giant zip-line around the yeshiva, setting up an ice skating rink in the parking lot, renting an axe-throwing truck, and organizing bubble soccer in the gym.

In addition to the excellent education, there have been so many opportunities for fun! In just two months, he’s been to a bowling outing, a Friday night oneg, a Simchas Bais HaShoeivah, a Shabbaton, a hike and a barbecue. Looking forward to the years ahead!

HEICHAL PARENT

Students participate in a wide range of chessed opportunities, from assisting Tomchei Shabbos and Yad Leah to visiting elderly individuals.

Being a rebbe at Heichal is a personally enriching experience. The warmth and camaraderie in the halls of the yeshiva, combined with the bochurim’s deep bikush (desire) for aliyah, is both inspiring and tremendously motivating.

DANI STAUM, HEICHAL REBBE

Gedolei Yisroel

Throughout the school year, Heichal talmidim are privileged to meet and hear from a broad range of world-renowned Torah personalities, including Rav Hershel Schachter, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva University, and Rav Yerucham Olshin, Rosh Yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ. There is no better way to instill within them a deep sense of ahavas Yisrael and pride in their Jewish identity—values they will carry with them long after their time at our yeshiva

Our son Aryeh is a Heichal 10th grader. From the moment he received his acceptance letter in 8th grade until today, Rabbi Stechler and the Heichal administration have been a constant source of motivating and inspiring programming. Everything is thoughtfully designed to help the boys discover and develop their potential as they forge their unique paths in limmud Torah and avodas Hashem.
